BCAC chose AgriFoodBC's online tools to meet the needs of its stakeholders, and to better reach and communicate with its target audience. As the umbrella organization representing BC's producers, it was critical that BCAC's website was easy to deploy and update.
About BCAC: Founded in 1997, the BC Agriculture Council (BCAC) provides leadership in representing, promoting, and advocating the collective interests of all agricultural producers in British Columbia. The BCAC fosters cooperation and a collective response to matters affecting the future of B.C. agriculture and facilitates service delivery for a number of programs that benefit the industry. Our vision is to grow British Columbia into the most dynamic and robust agricultural province in Canada.
Challenge
The British Columbia Agricultural Council was being re-branded and the existing site needed to be refreshed. In addition, the current offline processing of farmer ID annual membership cards was cumbersome and inefficient and needed to be streamlined.Solution
A website was built using the AgrifoodBC content management system that allowed an administrator to refresh the site more frequently. Furthermore, the old offline Farmer id card payment system was enhanced so that it was moved online. This new process now makes it easier for farmers to register and pay for their id card directly from the new BCAC website.Results
The site was refreshed and rebuilt to reflect the new branding and new features such as the calendar tool and video module. This makes it easier for the BCAC to better engage their audience. In addition, the online payment tool for Farmer memberships significantly reduced the processing time and the effort required by BCAC.Leave a comment
